Dan Ariely is the James B. Duke Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Economics at Duke University, working closely with the university’s Fuqua School of Business, Center for Cognitive Neuroscience, Department of Economics, and School of Medicine. He holds PhDs in both cognitive psychology and business administration.
Ariely is the author of two wildly popular books: Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions (2009) and The Upside of Irrationality: The Unexpected Benefits of Defying Logic at Work and at Home (2010). His work has also been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Scientific American, Science and other internationally recognized publications, and he has appeared on CNN, CNBC and National Public Radio’s (NPR) Marketplace. He lives in Durham, North Carolina, with his wife and two children.
