A flood of new competition has entered the financial services industry, making differentiation more important than ever for every bank and credit union.
Ago Cluytens is a partner and senior strategist at The Brand Consultancy , where he works with clients looking to improve performance against their business objectives in the areas of marketing and branding. In a world where brands become increasingly important to stand out from the crowd and drive business results, he is a strong believer in the idea that marketing should contribute to the bottom line in a clear, straightforward and measurable way.
His consulting work focuses on helping organizations “capture the hidden value” by strengthening their brand connection with their employees and customers, thus building a sustainable competitive advantage. His approach spans across traditional boundaries and integrates elements of marketing, organization development (OD) and corporate strategy development.
Ago spent several years as a management consultant with Big-4 firms Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen. In 2002, he joined global financial services provider ING, where he held various executive positions in banking, insurance and wealth management, including Global Head of Marketing for the Private Banking division. He is an active member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and sits on the Advisory Board of AOM, a Geneva-based NGO associated with Grameen International.
Ago holds a Masters Degree in Marketing & Communications from the University of Brussels, and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Lausanne-based Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). He obtained additional degrees and certificates from various academic institutions, including Vlerick Management School, and is a former participant of the INSEAD International Marketing Programme.
