How do financial institutions stay profitable?


Tom Morefield has developed a strong, focused partnership with financial institutions during his many years with Deluxe Corporation. As the leader of the financial institution market, he is accountable for developing and executing Deluxe’s check program and retail growth strategies with over 7,000 financial institution clients.

Tom started with Deluxe in 1984 in Kansas City as a sales trainee and has made strong contributions in his many and varied roles. His career milestones include appointments as sales representative in Illinois and Missouri. He moved to Minnesota in 1991 where he served in various roles, including major accounts pricing analyst, sales automation project manager, and customer interface team lead. He moved to Massachusetts in 1997 to lead the mail center operations team and moved back to Kansas City in 1998 to lead customer support. Tom returned to sales in 2000 as director of sales administration and operations and then onto national sales director of the community market. Prior to Tom’s current assignment, he led Deluxe’s channel management team including field sales, inbound sales, outbound sales, customer care, direct marketing, eCommerce, and distributors.

Tom has a masters’ degree in business and public administration from University of Missouri in Kansas City and a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration/economics and history from Westminster College in Fulton, MO.

Tom and his wife, Kathy, reside in Overland Park, Kansas with their three children, David, Sarah and Matthew.
